Join Us for a Karkarook Parkrun!
Dear Families,
We will be taking over the 5km Karkarook Parkrun this Saturday, 25 May, as we did two years ago. It's a fantastic opportunity to join a wonderful FREE community event, stay active, and earn some valuable House Points.
With a promising weather forecast ahead, it's the perfect time to lace up your running/jogging/walking shoes and join us for a morning of fun and fitness. You can even bring your dog along! Remember, no one ever regrets participating in Parkrun, but many regret not seizing the chance!

We would like to invite you to an important parent information session featuring Sonya Karras: About | Whole New World, which will take place on Monday 24 June at 6:00pm, in person at the college and streamed (details to follow).
Sonya will be presenting essential knowledge and guidance on alcohol, drugs, and safe partying for our Year 10 & 11 students. This session is a follow up for their parents, but ALL parents/carers are welcome to join. Please CLICK HERE to let us know by COB on Thursday 20 June if you will be joining.
Sonya is an expert and engaging presenter with over 20 years of experience working with Australian schools, specialising in safe partying practices.

Featuring a diverse range of vibrant works from Beaumaris Secondary College Year 7 & 8 students, as well as Year 4 – 6 students from our local primary schools, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to connect and appreciate art together.

Week 8 marks our inaugural ‘Arts Week’ and we have an exciting lineup of events planned! Please find below the detailed schedule for the week.
House Points will be awarded for participation in any event, with individual prizes up for grabs for contest winners!
Battle of the Bands
On Wednesday 4 September we will host our first-ever student Battle of the Bands! Use the form on Teams to provide details about your performance/group so you can be allocated a performance time. All students will attend the performances, with a judging panel to be decided.
Email camilla.saunders@education.vic.gov.au to book a rehearsal space to practice your performances leading up to the day.
Performances should be a maximum of 3-5 minutes for groups and 2 minutes for soloists.
Collaborative Artwork
There will be materials in B9 and B10 for students from any year level to contribute to a House Coloured Collaborative Artwork to be displayed at the college. There is no minimum or maximum contribution required, and house points will be awarded for participation.
When: During GOAL on Monday 2 September and during lunchtime on Monday and Tuesday (2 & 3 September)
Art Contest (Any Medium)
Create an artwork on one of the themes below and submit it via email to Ms O’Keefe at emily.okeefe@education.vic.gov.au by 3:10pm Monday 2 September. Themes can be interpreted in any way you like, and bonus points may be awarded for a 50-150 word artist statement discussing your work and connecting it to the theme.

Year 9 Innovate students showcase their creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit with their annual Market Day held during lunchtime in the Central Plaza. From mouthwatering treats to exciting stalls and challenges, students from every year level have the opportunity to indulge whilst learning about a range of social enterprises. It's a fantastic event for all, and funds raised are donated to charity!
