Co-curricular

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

Launched in 2023, this prestigious program offered to our Year 9 students provides an enriching experience that fosters personal growth, resilience and a spirit of adventure.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award comprises four key components: physical recreation, skills, voluntary service and adventurous journey, across 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level provides a unique set of challenges and opportunities for students to push their boundaries and discover their potential.

Participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is not just a co-curricular activity; it's a chance for young individuals to step out of their comfort zones, cultivate initiative, boost self-esteem, and embrace a sense of adventure. Our students set personal goals in each component, encouraging continuous improvement and a well-rounded development.

One of the program's highlights is the Voluntary Service component, where we actively seek partnerships with the local community. If you are part of an organisation or run an initiative that could benefit from the energy and enthusiasm of our young volunteers, we invite you to connect with us. By collaborating with the community, we aim to create meaningful and impactful experiences for our students while contributing to the wellbeing of the broader community.

Moreover, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is not just a personal achievement; it is also an internationally recognised credential that can significantly enhance job prospects, scholarship applications and university admissions.

At Beaumaris Secondary College, we believe in providing our students with holistic opportunities for growth, and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award aligns perfectly with our commitment to shaping well-rounded, confident and socially responsible individuals.

Join us on this exciting journey of self-discovery, challenge, and community engagement through the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award!
